How to Help Your Dog Adapt to Condo Life

Pups can be restless, and we all know that, especially in small spaces. Condos aren’t expansive and sprawling like traditional homes, but rather a fairly compact space. This article guides you on how to help your pup adjust to condo life, if pets are allowed, so make sure to familiarize yourself with the guidelines and check with the admin or management at the Pinery Residences.

Toy Food Dispensers

If your dog is energetic like most, toy food dispensers are one popular way to mentally stimulate your pup and wear them out. Take a while to teach them how to interact with the toy(any kind, just make sure it’s safe!)

Training Sessions

Daily training sessions should be aimed at enhancing your pup’s obedience, bond, attention span, and helping them remain happy. Teaching them new tricks, such as sit, shake, stay, and quiet(A must, always remember your neighbors are just next door), can obtain all these gains at once. However, don’t worry if they don’t learn at first, slow and steady!

Turn Your Pup into A Chill Dude

Encourage your dog to socialize and introduce itself slowly as it interacts with your neighbors and other dogs in the park. Reward them with treats for good behavior, and set a goal for your pup to make fewer reactions to prevent aggression and possible incidents.

Potty Training

This is one problem most people can’t solve. They always see pee and poop around the living room while trying their best. Especially in a condo, where it’s smaller than the usual, mastering potty training is a must. One technique is to have a regular schedule for them for dinner and lunch, walks, and potty time. To help them master this, you must tell the command “potty,” then reward your dog with a treat afterward if done correctly.
