Most Technologically Advanced Airports in Texas

In the 21st century, the travel industry has taken off immensely. People from around the globe are travelling in much larger numbers than ever before, as it has become easier and cheaper to plan your own trips with the aid of web-based technologies and websites devoted to travel. There are numerous reasons that people desire to travel, but no matter why they travel, they have to get to their destinations one way or another. In the modern era, many people choose to fly to their destinations, as it is easier and quicker to do this than to drive or take the train, and if you are travelling internationally, flying is a must. When flying, one of the most important entities is arriving safely and on time to the airport you are going to. With so many airports throughout the United States, it can be difficult to know which airports are the best. Although there are numerous states throughout the USA, Texas is a great example to look at for technologically advanced airports.

Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport

The Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is one of the top airports in all of Texas. This airport is the largest hub for American Airlines, and is the fourth busiest airport in the world by aircraft movements and the fifteenth business airport in the world by airport traffic, according to a 2017 study. Being such a large airport has led to DFW becoming extremely technologically advanced. One of the top advancements in recent years is the testing of facial recognition technologies in order to keep the airport more secure. There has also recently been an addition to make parking safer and simpler, as an advanced DFW airport parking service has aided in helping flyers get into the airport faster and more conveniently.

George Bush Intercontinental Airport

Another excellent airport that is located in Houston is the George Bush International Airport. While not as large as Dallas-Fort Worth’s airport, George Bush still served over 40 million passengers in 2017, making it the fifteenth busiest airport in the United States. The airport boasts a cutting-edge wayfinding technology that allows passengers to easily find their way around the terminals.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

The final airport on this list serves the capital city of Texas – Austin. The Austin-Bergstrom Airport is located on the former site of the Bergstrom Air Force Base and is the main airport for the city of Austin. Outside of the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston metro areas, Austin-Bergstrom is the largest airport in Texas. As a relatively new airport, being open for just over 20 years, Austin-Bergstrom is very high-tech, loaded with a recent 70,000 square foot, seven gate expansion that immensely increased passenger capacity and boosted air traffic.

Final Thoughts

Texas is one of the largest states in the USA, and because of this it has many passengers flying in and out of its airports on a daily basis. Texas has built up its airport infrastructure in recent years and will continue to grow and create more technological advances as the future progresses.
