Evan Blass, the famous Android phone leakster tweeted an image of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017). The design of the phone looks refreshed with new design cues. If you don’t know who Evan Blass is, you should know that he is one of the most reliable and trusted sources. He is also known as evleaks, also his Twitter handles @evleaks.
The design of the Galaxy J7 (2017) looks similar to the Galaxy J3 Emerge that was released earlier this year in the USA. The front of the phone looks very much unchanged, however, the main refresh is on the back.
The back of the phone now houses a brushed strip on which the camera and the flash sit on. Gone is the speaker on the back from the previous Galaxy J series. The speaker may have been shifted to the bottom of the phone like the Galaxy S-series and Galaxy A-series.
According to various leaks, the phone will run on Samsung’s own Exynos 7870 chip* which will be clocked at 1.5 GHz, along with 2 Gigabytes of RAM. The front of the phone will house a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 which is pretty low in 2017.
The front camera is speculated to be using a 2MP sensor whereas the back is expected to be using an 8MP sensor. Unlike the S-series that is expected to ditch the home button, the J-series will still house the front home button and set of a capacitive button at least the next year. It makes sense, the company wants its flagship to stand out.
*leaks suggest that a different model will be running on Snapdragon’s 625 chip.
