SYDNEY, AUS—The University of Technology Sydney has long supported innovation and design, which is why nothing about a $1 billion dollar plan to upgrade UTS surprises us. Last year, UTS actually catapulted rankings in the , becoming the best university globally when it comes to “young universities.” They champion learning and ingenuity, while spear-heading a unique approach to learning; because of this they’re investing now— in the hopes of helping the next generation excel.
“These facilities support a new model of learning at UTS, [strengthening] the University’s capacity for cutting-edge research, giving our partners in industry, government, and the community access to world-class resources within Sydney’s burgeoning education, digital, and creative hub,” says UTS Vice-Chancellor Attila Brungs.

When the lights go out, the symphony of screens begins, illuminating the UTS Super Lab in light and sound, with every screen synchronized automatically to deliver a seamless performance every single time the lights go dim.
Synchronized lights aren’t the only thing that’s new in the UTS Super Lab. The awe inspiring light displays on the inside, as well as a 3D data visualization space (called the Data Arena) inspire students to use their imaginations. The building itself has the highest energy star rating (6 stars) for its design, energy conversion methods, and performance; it’s even being called the world’s only “living lab,” with a specialist Crime Scene Simulation lab and Psychology Clinic.
