Why Avoid Buying Followers on Instagram?

Why Avoid Buying Followers on Instagram?

Instagram is the latest trend nowadays, and each and every brand, celebrity, and company have got their own Instagram account that allows you to interact with them, know more about the products and services they offer and hence it’s a good way of marketing yourself or your company and that too for free.

However, just having an Instagram account is not enough. You must also have a considerable number of followers who are interested in your content.

A mistake that most people on the platform do is that they buy Instagram followers just ton increase the number that shows on their account. Even though impressive, it still doesn’t benefit them in any way, as it wouldn’t matter how many people follow you if they don’t interact with your account. You can go another way and iterate to buy 50 Instagram followers of real quality and to repeat this action by periods. It means your new purchased following should consist of only real people and you should do it by small portions, but in most cases people just ignore this rule, and that’s really bad for your account on Instagram in 2019 and 2020.

Here are some of the reasons why buying followers on Instagram is not a good thing to do;

Fake followers who are not interested:

If you are a brand or a company that’s selling a service or a product, then it wouldn’t make much difference if your account holds thousands of fans if all of them are fake followers and not interested in what you are selling. True increasing the number of followers can get you more followers, but it’s still not guaranteed.

Also, if these followers weren’t bought from a third-party source rather random people who wanted to get a follow back, the new followers you get would be of the same type as your content won’t be able to reach the right audience.

Distorts your performance metrics:

With Instagram, you can tell how many people interacted with or saw your content. But if most of your followers are fake, there’s no way of knowing how many people interacted with your content. This way, you won’t be able to tell what sort of content can get you more interaction with the users.

No engagement with the followers:

Having thousands of followers still won’t get you any likes or comments, as those followers will be fake. This way, it’ll be embarrassing to have that many followers with only a few people interacting with or liking and commenting on your posts.

Against Instagram’s Community Guidelines:

Just recently, Instagram updated its terms of use, and by the new policies, Instagram moderators will now be able to identify fake followers, likes comments, etc. These fake followers are provided by third party resources, and by buying them, you will be going against Instagram’s community guidelines. This action might even result in consequences.

As you can see, buying followers has more cons than pros. So the better option for you would be to increase your followers organically. You can use strategies like adding more and relevant hashtags, posting interactive questions as stories, following relative accounts, and interacting with them or by improving the quality of your content, the captions, and pictorials you post. These tricks will most likely get you the right kind of followers, and your content will reach the target audience.
