5 Weirdest Gadgets Presented at CES in 2020

Gadgets are usually cool devices that can be used for one or for multiple purposes. Most of them are interesting but not special or weird. Now, we will take a look at the completely opposite. We will take a look at 5 gadgets that are completely weird and unorthodox. All of these gadgets were presented at CES 2020.

Charmin RollBot

Charmin RollBot

Of them all, Charmin RollBot has to be the weirdest gadget and the one that can be extremely useful, when needed. Basically, this is a small robot controlled via Bluetooth. It does one thing only. It brings you toilet paper when let’s just say you really need it.

The idea here is that a ‘’user’’ sends a signal using Bluetooth to the device. It will then do the obvious. The gadget has 2 wheels and a slot for toilet paper roll. Probably the most interesting feature is a display that mimics the face and shows various graphics. Charmin RollBot is developed by Charmin’s GoLab. Sadly, there is no detail when it will become available on the market.

Big O

Big O

Big O is developed by Origin. At first, it was a funny idea. Origin proved that they can place or better said built-in a PS4 or Xbox One into a game’s PC. Gamers wanted this to become a reality, so it did. Now, you can purchase this PC for $2500.

Users can play games (PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One), surf the web, play games at Playigo and so much more. It is a PC that comes with complete support for the aforementioned consoles. Origin claims that the gadget is developed for gamers who need a powerful device in small size or who want to mix PCs with gaming consoles.

Selfie Type from Samsung

Selfie Type from Samsung

This may sound like a synonym for any on-screen keyboard, but it is far from that. The technology is developed by Samsung and presented using their device. When activated, the Selfie Type will project an invisible keyboard on any surface. Then, it will use AI and the front-facing camera to follow your fingers as you type and show the corresponding symbols on the screen.

You can chat, using this feature on any surface and both, foldable and ordinary smartphones from Samsung can use it. The only potential problem is how well the system will recognize the patterns. Perhaps it will be optimized for each language or it will have a learning curve involved.

Guardian XO exoskeleton

Guardian XO exoskeleton

There is no need to explain this gadget or system. It is an exoskeleton that will be worn over any outfit. It is powered by a battery and it can operate for 8 hours. But, during these 8 hours, a user can lift up to 200 pounds! There are multiple modes. For instance, you can use only one arm or you can use both. Obviously, you will need 2 when lifting heavier items. Here you can see a complete demonstration of the technology and get a better idea about it.

The applications are numerous. The exoskeleton can be used by police officers, by construction workers who need to lift the massive weight, and by all others who need extra power for 8 hours. Although still new, this technology can be soon seen in various aspects of life and can even help injured people walk or move again. This is something that will probably be available in the future, but not at the moment.

Atmos Facewear

Atmos Facewear

On this list, you were able to see various gadgets. Some are cool, others are strange while this one is just weird, period. The idea is there and it does have a practical purpose. On the other side, the gadget looks awkward and suitable for specific countries and people only. So, what is it actually? Atmos Facewear is a type of mask that goes around your mouth and nose. It uses fans to push out the polluted air and to provide clean air to your airways.

The sole purpose here is to wear the gadget in areas where air pollution is severe like in China or similar countries. While wearing the Atmos Facewear, there is no risk of inhaling pollutants or anything that should be kept far away from the lungs. The only question is how well does it work? You can order this gadget already and it costs $350. There is an early adopter bonus in which you get accessories of $90 in value for free.

Final words

These gadgets are already made, tested and some are even available to purchase. They are not designed to be something that 99% of the world population will like. They are made to be appealing for some people and to be desired by even more. One thing is certain. All of them are weird and all of them create one problem in a completely different manner than any other product.
