In the past couple of decades, the education industry has experienced a great transformation.  Due to the arrival of educational apps, learning has become more accessible making it more interesting for pupils of all ages.  The educational apps are able to bridge the communication gap between not only teachers and parents, but also children and teachers.  Childhood is a significant period for learning, and because children are becoming smarter there is a growing need to introduce more advanced learning resources and methods.  This article will discuss the introduction and application of educational apps for children.

App #1:  ClassDojo

ClassDojo is an interesting educational app for children and is classified as one of the virtual classroom learning apps.  It allows students, parents, and teachers to interact with one another.  For example, children can communicate with their teachers regarding their learning needs, and parents can remain updated on their children’s classroom progress.  This is beneficial because it engages the student and they receive the necessary attention required to gain a more effective education.  The app enriches the classroom experience without replacing it, while at the same time providing positive reinforcement for the child, and improving communication between learns, teachers, and parents.

App #2:  Duolingo

When you are considering a simple means for your child to learn a foreign language, then you should look at Duolingo as a good option.  This educational app offers the learner a variety of languages, including Dutch, Spanish, Danish, German, Italian, French, Irish, and even English.  Duolingo is free to download, easy to use, and does not have any hidden additional fees with the in-app purchases being completely optional.  Furthermore, this educational app can be fun to use and is highly effective.

App #3:  DragonBox

Filled with fun activities, the DragonBox app is a series of educational games teaching students math fundamentals in an engaging and interesting way.  There are five different learning apps in totality to learn math, including geometry and algebra.  Some students take math seriously; however, math can be experienced as a fun subject if the subject is taught when the child is young and using simple concepts.  The five different games in the DragonBox app require an up-front payment, but it does not have an in-app purchase fees. Something like this can really work well with a tutoring service in this field.

App #4:  Quick Maths

This educational app is also aimed at making children more familiar with numbers; thereby imparting general math skills to children in grades two to six.  Quick Maths is one of the most effective app options for self-improvement and can increase the child’s ability to tackle the difficulties in math.  The app is currently available via the App Store.

App #5:  YouTube Kids

Made and curated exclusively for children, YouTube Kids is an educational app providing educational entertainment content to enhance and inspire young minds.  This app is currently available free of charge, it is easy to use, and it offers children child-oriented content using family-friendly videos.

App #6:  Science360

Science360 is an educational app developed by the National Science Foundation.  The app was build exclusively for tablet users to showcase advanced science, engineering news images, and videos for children.  The content used is original, of a high quality, and updated frequently.  It is produced by the National Science Foundation or gathered from educational facilities across the globe.  The unique 360-degree view allows children to discover the 3D images from various different angles.

App #7:  Crossword Puzzles

A rather simple concept, but Crossword Puzzles are one of the best educational resources for smart children.  The app guarantees an enjoyable time and supports various aspects of learning for the student.  By allowing your child to complete these puzzles, you are setting them up for success and engaging them in learning different subjects.

App #8:  Flow Free

Flow Free is a puzzle game that is interesting for both adults and children.  The app presents with 2,000 puzzles that can be used for free; however, there are addition in-app purchase options and expansion pack purchase options.

App #9:  Spelling Stage

Children may find spelling words challenging and can lose interest in English, but using this app their interest in the subject will return.  Spelling Stage is an app where children can learn to spell various words suitable for different age groups, ranging from preschool to adult.  Unfortunately, the app requires a paid subscription to unlock the words.

App #10:  My Molecularium

One of the more entertaining learning apps is My Molecularium.  This app is designed for high school students and encourages students to learn chemistry concepts related to chemical formulas, molecular structure, and skeletal formulas.
