Metrotest has announced continued availability of its complimentary test-and-tag training course, designed to give newcomers a risk-free way to explore the industry. The Bronze-level programme provides foundational knowledge without requiring an upfront investment in training or equipment.
The initiative reflects Metrotest’s commitment to supporting individuals and businesses considering test-and-tag work by allowing them to trial the learning process before enrolling in a full qualification.
While the course is not a standalone competency certification, it offers a valuable introduction to key topics including electrical safety, appliance classes, legislation requirements, and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) equipment. Learners also gain access to a virtual PAT testing simulator modelled on the Metrotest EasiPAT 10 unit.
For those who later purchase the online training but prefer face-to-face learning, Metrotest allows students to transfer into an in-person programme by simply paying the difference in cost. Nationwide in-person sessions are available across New Zealand.
Metrotest has also released a free Test and Tag Health & Safety Manager’s Course to help businesses better understand compliance obligations.
Learners can progress through the Bronze, Silver, and Gold training pathway, culminating in a one-on-one practical assessment with an experienced electrical trainer.
Enrolment in the Bronze course is now open. For more information, visit Metrotest Test & Tag Training or call 0800 638 768.
