Photo editing on mobile devices is a popular topic in the photography world. As more people get into photography, they want to share their work with family and friends on social media. But sometimes you’ll see photos that are too dark or overexposed, with poor color balance or contrast. You can’t always expect people to use high-end cameras, or even professional editing software for their photos. Some people just want to take a quick photo and share it with their friends and family.

With so many apps available for editing photos on mobile devices, it’s hard to know which ones are worth trying out. So we’ve put together a list of some useful tools to try when editing your photos on your phone or tablet device.

Snapseed – iOS and Android

Snapseed is a powerful photo editor with an intuitive and easy-to-use interface. You can use this app to make basic edits like cropping, rotating, straightening and adjusting the brightness, contrast and saturation of your photos. It also has a wide range of effects filters and tools that allow you to adjust the intensity of each effect with a simple slider control. Snapseed also includes a useful selection tool that allows you to select parts of your image using either lasso or magic wand selections tools, or by using color sampling on any area in the image that you want to use as your selection source (e.g. sky).

VSCO Cam

VSCO Cam offers a variety of different filters that users can apply to their photos before sharing them online or posting them on social media sites such as Facebook or Instagram. Unlike Snapseed, which uses Adobe filters, VSCO Cam uses its own proprietary technology to create unique effects for photos taken with smartphones and tablets.

Fotor:

This is another free app that allows users to do basic editing functions such as crop, rotate, adjust lighting and contrast on their images as well as add unique effects such as old-fashioned film or retro film effects. Fotor also has an option called “awesome frames” which lets users place borders around their images in different styles such as traditional frames or modern-style frames with patterns in them.

Adobe Photoshop Express

This is a great option if you want to make basic edits to your photos on the go. It has some powerful features such as cropping, image adjustments, filters and touch up tools. You can also sync your work with Adobe Creative Cloud so you don’t lose any changes when you’re using different devices or platforms. The app is free for both iOS and Android users, but it does include ads in the free version (which can be removed by upgrading to the paid version).

Aviary Photo Editor

Aviary has two versions of its photo editor: one for mobile devices and one for desktop computers. Both have similar features and functions, but they’re not exactly identical — especially since they have different interfaces depending on what kind of device they’re being used on. The mobile version has an intuitive interface that makes it easy to perform basic edits like cropping, color adjustments and filters right from your phone or tablet’s camera roll without having to upload each picture individually first. Facetune

Facetune is a powerful tool for enhancing your selfie photos or portrait shots. The app comes with several tools for retouching and editing specific areas of your photos. It also allows users to add filters, adjust lighting and color saturation, remove blemishes, whiten teeth and much more.
