Samsung started pushing the Android 7.0 Nougat update to its phones last year. But the S6 has still not received. The update was supposed to be released in the month of February but that didn’t happen (ugh).
However, it looks like some of the Samsung Galaxy S6 users can rejoice. According to the reports, the Nougat update is being pushed OTA to the S6 and S6 Edge phones in the Europe.
DroidReport reports that the update will weigh around 1.35GB (it will vary depending on the model and location).
The reports further suggest that the update was put on hold because the company wanted to do a quality check. Looks like the company doesn’t want to make a single mistake after the horrendous experience the customers had to face with the Note 7.
According to GSMArena, the quality test returned positive results. That means that update will be making its way to other continents also very soon. According to another tech blog, Sammobile, users in Switzerland, Italy, and Germany have successfully received the update.
Sorry Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users, you will have to wait a little longer, the update is limited to just Europe for now.
The update will also offer new interface updates and performance from Samsung, alongside the standard Android Nougat update. There seem to be major user experience reforms to the Quick panel, notifications.
The OTA will also be adding some intelligent Cloud stuff like easy syncing of app data of native apps.
