Working in a garden full of the same old conventional clay or plastic pots may get boring. Look at the materials you already have at home to give your greens a fresh beginning. You can turn unnecessary clutter or rubbish into one-of-a-kind and imaginative planters if they can hold soil and allow for drainage.

In reality, making your planters provides an entertaining, hands-on experience. It benefits the environment by recycling things that might otherwise end up in a landfill.

Why Use Recycled Materials?

Container gardening for flowers, shrubs, veggies, and herbs provides the ideal platform for many people limited by space and lifestyle. Apart from having a one-of-a-kind appearance, utilizing recycled things will create an eye-catching focal point in your yard or living area that radiates uniqueness, making conventional containers appear dull.

Excellent Tips For Creating An Attractive Container Garden From Recycled Materials

1.   Unused Bathroom Accessories

Toss in an old commode amid your greens for a unique garden in the area. Planters built from old sinks, sink basins, bathtubs, and even toilets are among the trendiest and most fun to do.

You can enjoy designing your container garden with cool things, especially with a spacious garden. But if you need help with garden space, maybe it’s time for you to look for a new home.

To plan an upgrade to a more prominent place for your garden, try the mortgage loan program offered by Sofi.com and other mortgage companies to help you search for your desired home.

2.   The Trusty Wheelbarrow

What says gardening is like an old wheelbarrow? Making this trustworthy item a permanent fixture in your nursery is simple. It doesn’t matter what material your wheelbarrow’s bed is. All you need is to locate a space in your yard, firmly put the wheelbarrow in the earth, and fill the bed with dirt and any plants you want to grow.

You can even use modern technology in gardening. You can look for inspirations online on improving your garden design and skills and use them to create your ideal container garden. It could give you more knowledge about the latest gardening trends

3.   Old Furniture

There are many types of furniture that you can turn into valuable and fascinating planters. Chairs with wicker seats, in particular, are ideal. But anything that you can cut through would do. Then, decorate the chair as desired. Next, drill a hole in the seat large enough for a regular potted plant to slide through without falling.

4.   Disposable Bottles

Utilize disposable items as planters! Milk jars and 2-liter bottles, for example, make great planters. Just cut off the bottom of the container, wash it thoroughly with soap and water, punch many small holes for drainage, fill it with soil, and plant your seeds. These containers are biodegradable and are perfect for your garden.

5.   Use That Old Denim

Transform a pair of denim blue jeans or overalls into a hanging planter with two plants, scissors, wire and plastic containers. Start by placing the plants inside each pant leg, then cut out several small holes around the pants – including piercing through the plastic container – to create your design.

Weave the wire through the newly made holes and twist them. It should hold the plants’ containers securely and, at the same time, give your masterpiece that lovely rugged look.

The Bottom Line

There are many ways to make your container garden look attractive. You need to be creative and resourceful. By using old recycled materials, you can reduce the clutters in your home and use them as different decorations or accessories to make your garden even more attractive.

Using recycled materials to improve your garden can also help the environment. You’re helping reduce unwanted waste that would take years to decompose. You’re not only helping the environment by reducing waste, but you are also putting old things to good use.
