Choosing a gift for young children is hard, you want to make sure that they get something they will enjoy, but you also want to make sure that they will learn and improve themselves. Toys are fun, but often they get ignored or gotten rid of faster than we would like. That’s why many people choose to purchase educational toys for gifts, hoping that they will see more use and that they will help improve the skills of the child in question. Generally speaking this works out because children want to engage with the world around them and are eager to learn about the world that they have been born into.

One of the more popular options over the last few years for children in the educational toy department has been Leapfrog, a company that offers interactive educational toys and books for a variety of different age levels, ensuring that learning becomes a lifelong pursuit. Leapfrog partners with educational professionals to make sure that their tools are going to have the biggest impact possible, focusing them around the basic life skills that every child needs to develop. They also focus on developing skills that will take children farther in school, preparing them to enter formal education without fear.

The most popular thing that they offer is the Leappad, basically a small tablet for children that works with a variety of materials and teaches basic skills. Older versions of the pad worked off of booklets, and some of the offerings for children still do. Today, most of the Leappad style offerings are actual tablets though, allowing parents and people gifting children access to a large variety of software and programs to ensure that children are never bored. This approach introduces children to technology early on, gives them a tool that they can learn on and grow with, and allows parents full control of everything that their children see.

Leapfrog is aimed at children under the age of 13, but there isn’t a lower age limit. They offer a number of different products that range from pre-school on up, and focus on STEM skills, making them perfect for parents who want to improve core skills at home. The ability to scale up and down for children with different levels of previous learning experiences makes their products somewhat sought after and means that they have a proven record of improved learning outcomes.

With many people choosing to utilize at home school options, Leapfrog is gaining in popularity. The tablet based system helps kids learn to navigate the digital world while keeping them safe.

Overall, Leapfrog products are a great choice for parents, friends, and family to get for children of any age. They help increase the number of skills that a child masters as they grow, provide information to young minds, and are created with total enrichment in mind. The parental controls and ability to get new material very quickly makes them a great choice for even children you don’t know well, taking some of the guess work out of gift giving.
