Xiaomi’s Mi5 is selling for a ridiculous price on Flipkart; ridiculous in a positive way. The phone can be bought for as low as Rs. 5,399. However, it’s not a straightforward deal, it’s an exchange offer. Hey, it’s still a great deal! The phone retails for Rs. 22,999 and you can get up to Rs.17,600 off on the main price.
One thing to keep in mind is that the deal is not always available. The e-retailer seems to have selected a specific period between which the deal will be online. Unfortunately, we don’t know when those specific periods will be.
The Mi5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit chip which is backed up by 3 gigabytes of RAM. The phone can be exchanged for various different Android phones including Google’s nexus phones. On the front, you get a 5.15-inch Full-HD display running on MIUI 7 based on Android Marshmallow. Hope Nougat comes early.
On the back of the phone, there is a Sony IMX298 sensor which measures 16 megapixels tagged along with a dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The camera record in 4K and with OIS present, expect shake-free videos. The front camera uses a 4-megapixel sensor which has a 2um pixel size meaning the camera can capture more light. Expect some nice shots in the dark.
The phone uses Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology, the battery capacity is 3000 mAh. Great! Also, it supports 4G VoLTE.
