The eSports industry is one of the biggest gaming markets available to players, therefore it is no surprise that so many avid gamers are continually looking forward to seeing what eSports games will be released in the upcoming year.
Indeed, 2021 looks set to be a top year for the eSports industry as a whole as it continues to boom and provide fans with the potential to do a wide range of different tasks, whilst it also continues to provide those outsides of the gaming sphere with plenty of opportunities, as well. These include eSports betting opportunities as plenty of sportsbooks continue to increase the market offerings that they provide, whilst more and more gambling enthusiasts turn to the sport as one of their go-to choices, as well.
One reason that 2021 looks set to be a good year for the industry, though, is due to the games that are set to be released over the coming months. Indeed, whilst we are already halfway through the year, that still means there are 6 months in which some top games can be released and potentially become rather big hits in the eSports world when they are made available.
These games include the likes of Halo Infinite, Back 4 Blood and New World to mention a few. Here is a rundown of each game and why it could be massive in the eSports sphere once it is released.
Halo Infinite
Having already been hit with major delays beyond Microsoft’s control, there is already plenty of anticipation regarding their Halo Infinite title and one that has been building for a couple of years.
Indeed, the Halo franchise was one of the very first eSports games to have been played successfully and become a huge hit in that arena, with players such as Ninja arguably turning the game into what it is today.
There is already a big Halo Infinite tournament scheduled to take place in November 2021, despite rumors of further delays, and with the game having been described as a “spiritual reboot” of the franchise expanding and a redefinition of the Halo formula whilst retaining what had initially made the game series as popular as it was from the beginning, it clearly has the potential to become massive in the eSports world.
Back 4 Blood
Scheduled to be released in October 2021, Turtle Rock Studios’ Back 4 Blood video game is another that could potentially take the eSports world by storm once it is released later this year.
Described as a thrilling cooperative first-person shooter, the game comes from the makers of the hit ‘Left 4 Dead’ franchise, therefore there is already plenty of expectation and anticipation about how well this game will do once released.
Considering the game has already had its original release date pushed back from June to October, there will be many eSports enthusiasts that will be hoping the additional four months that they have to wait for the game is worth it.
New World
Amazon Game Studios have also looked to get in on the act of trying to provide players with a potential eSports gaming hit with their highly-anticipated New World title. As with all of the other games, fans have had to wait a while to be able to get their hands on it, as the game was initially slated for a release in May 2020 and has since been pushed all the way back to the end of August 2021.
New World has been described as a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that has been set in the mid-1600s as players will look to colonize a fictional land modelled on colonial America that is known as Aeternum Island.
It is going to be hard to predict what this game will do as it is one of the first that Amazon Game Studios have produced, however if they get this right, there is no reason that it can not become a huge success in the eSports world once it has been released.
